360° Musical Cultures

Host a Music Inclusion Specialist in your school for a year

This opportunity is for East Midlands schools who aspire to make music a more central part of school life.

It has been designed for schools that are in the early stages of developing their musical offer and/or would like to upskill classroom staff skill.

What will happen?

As part of the programme, an experienced music hub specialist will visit your school for 30 half/whole-days* across the academic year.

As well as co-delivering classroom music lessons, they will work closely with school staff to identify and support other areas of school
music provision, including:

● School Music Development Planning
● Choir and ensemble development
● Music to support other areas of the curriculum
● Music assemblies
● Music-making opportunities for pupils with complex needs
● Schemes of work, curriculum development and assessment frameworks
● Staff CPD

This will be done in collaboration with an identified school music lead, with staff training and development built into all aspects of the project. By the end of the year, the aspiration is for classroom staff to feel confident, skilled and resourced enough to maintain a high level of music-making in the school.

*Note: The project is funded for 0.5 days over 30 weeks. Schools in some areas may have the option to buy in an additional half-day at music hub rates.
